The AIO-5 Play for BMW is specifically designed for motorcycles equipped with BMW Navigator holder and preparation. The device connects directly to the navigator holder and is powered by your BMW's electrical system.
There is quite a bit of confusion about the compatibility of the Chigee AIO5 Play because of the new BMW version. Below we try to explain how it is.
BMWs with a 3-pin navigation interface but without a Navigator?
If your BMW has a 3-pin navigation connector but no navigator holder, you can still make your motorcycle compatible with the AIO-5 Play BMW version. Simply install a BMW navigation holder (available for purchase from BMW).. This addition ensures that the AIO-5 Play integrates seamlessly with your motorcycle and provides all its functions.
- Find your motorcycle's navigator cable (3 pin plug)
- Connect the BMW Navigator holder (available from BMW).
Read tire pressure data: If your BMW has a factory-installed TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), CHIGEE can directly read your TPMS data. If your BMW does not have a factory installed TPMS, consider using the CHIGEE TPMS purchase.
Perfect compatibility: CHIGEE devices integrate seamlessly with BMWs, with access to native data and control via the Wonder Wheel. Make sure you have "NAV" selected in on your BMW TFT/analog screen.
Not supported: BMW's native data is accessible, but Wonder Wheel operation requires a software update or the purchase of CGRC CAN. We have found that some models do not support software updates from BMW. Please refer to the compatibility chart for more information.
- Without Wonder Wheel: For BMWs without Wonder Wheel, we recommend the CGRC PRO-remote control.
- CGRC CAN required for Wonder Wheel operation (native data can be read): For RT/K series with mechanical instruments, you can use the CGRC CAN purchase for controls. (2011-2021 K1600 series / R1200 RT / 2016-2017 R1200 R)
- Wonder Wheel control is not available (native data can be read): For RT/K-series with TFT instruments, Wonder Wheel control is not available-consider the CGRC PRO-remote control. (2021-2023 R1250 RT & 2022-2023 K1600 models & 2022-2023 K1600B)
