The Touratech stabilization bar creates an additional, fourth point of support! Impact forces are reliably absorbed, distributed and redirected to the frame at the correct location of the R1300GS.
This makes the bar an absolutely sensible addition to the original BMW motorcycle protection bar, which lacks this support. The three attachment points leave the rear upper area entirely to the strength of the tube alone. What should be sufficient for a stationary drop can quickly lead to serious problems if the GS is used off-road! The risk of destroyed valve covers then becomes real.
The original BMW motorcycle protection bar has been noticeably reinforced with the help of the Touratech stabilization bar and therefore reliably fulfills its role as a full-fledged crash bar. Thanks to its electro-polished surface and use of the same diameter, the bar perfectly matches the engine guard of the 1300 Boxer GS, both technically and visually.
