On bumpy roads, the Tenere 700's cockpit tends to vibrate considerably - especially if it has a navigation device installed that is heavier like the Carpe Iter.
The reason for this are the struts made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic that hold the aluminum bar and have very little torsional rigidity. These are particularly unstable at the height point causing the system mounted to the aluminum rod to vibrate tremendously.
This is exactly where the cockpit stabilizer comes into play by reducing the instability. This is achieved by connecting the stable plastic part (to which the speedometer unit is also bolted) to the cockpit strut and thereby strengthening it.
- Vibrations from the speedometer and headlight are also reduced.
- Suitable for Yamaha Tenere 700, year of manufacture 2019-2022.
- The stabilizer does NOT fit the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid (modified speedometer unit).
It should be noted that the angle of the GPS mount cannot be freely selected when the stabilizer is installed, but must be set parallel to the speedometer unit. Depending on the navigation device installed, it may partially cover or touch the speedometer unit. Therefore, when installing the stabilizer, we recommend using an adapter plate to place the Carpe Iter or other system higher.
Installation is easy as usual:
-
2 pieces of M6x14 pan-head screws connect the navigation mount and the stabilizer.
-
2 pieces of M6x20 pan-head screws replace the original screws used to attach the speedometer unit and connect the lower plastic part, the stabilizer and the speedometer
